Middle PHP, Laravel Backend Developer

HotShots Labs is a small team with a focus on cross-platform mobile development. Our clients are all from over the world.

We are looking for a responsible person with a passion for technology. You should be confident enough in your skills and have at least 2 years of commercial Laravel backend development experience to be able to take over some of our projects.

We provide ongoing support without much supervision. It’s a remote position with a flexible schedule. You’re free to choose when and how much you want to work, all that matters is delivering high-quality results on time.

• 2+ years of commercial experience with PHP 8.x
• Solid understanding of OOP principles
• Solid knowledge of Laravel (Routing, Form Requests, Authentication/Authorization, Eloquent ORM, Queues, Jobs, Events, Service Container)
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs
• Good SQL knowledge: relationships, joins, indexes, transactions, query optimization, normalization/denormalization
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Understanding of SOLID, KISS, DRY, and common design patterns
• Experience writing Unit and Feature tests
• Good understanding of Git workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code review, resolving conflicts)
• Experience integrating third-party APIs
• Experience with Redis, caching, and queue management
• Understanding of HTTP, authentication, authorization, and API security basics
• Ability to analyze existing code, debug issues, and independently implement features from requirements

Nice to have:

• Experience with Docker
• Understanding of CI/CD processes (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Experience with API documentation using OpenAPI Specification
• Experience with application performance optimization and debugging production issues
• Basic knowledge of Linux and web server environments
• Familiarity with modular application architecture or modular monolith approaches
