Dispatcher Assistant, Updater (Independent Contractor)

Engagement type: Independent contractor services agreement — this is not employment Location: Remote, outside the United States Coverage window: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM — 5:00 PM EST (New York City Time) Compensation: Per driver covered, paid monthly + bonuses for load bookings

We are looking for track-and-trace support across its active freight. You will keep loads visible and on schedule — confirming driver status, monitoring ETAs, and keeping brokers and customers updated — working alongside the company’s dispatch function.

You will operate as an independent business under a written contractor agreement.

This is Dispatch Assistant/ Updater Position.

at least 1 year of prior experience in US Trucking Industry is required. Could be in one of the positions:

• Updater
• Dispatcher
• Support/ After Hours

📋 Scope of services

• Track active loads from pickup through delivery
• Confirm driver status, location, and estimated times of arrival
• Communicate with drivers on pickup and delivery information, appointment times, and load details
• Provide status updates and check calls to brokers, customers, and receivers
• Update the TMS and broker tracking portals with current load status
• Flag late loads, service failures, and delays early enough to be resolved
• Identify potential detention, TONU, layover, and other accessorial situations and escalate them
• Collect and file transportation documentation — BOLs, PODs, rate confirmations
• Search load boards (DAT, Truckstop, and broker portals) and present suitable load options to the dispatch function when requested
• Assist with booking loads the company has approved — completing carrier packets, confirming pickup and delivery details, and processing rate confirmations
• Escalate breakdowns, accidents, and cargo issues immediately
• Prepare end-of-coverage handoff notes for the dispatch function

💻 Contractor requirements

• You provide your own laptop/PC, high-speed internet, headset, and quiet working environment
• Registered as self-employed, sole proprietor, or business entity in your country of residence
• Responsible for your own taxes, social contributions, and local registrations
• Able to complete and sign IRS Form W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E
• Services performed from outside the United States
