Organisation Background

Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international NGO that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations, and training.

INSO provides daily support to more than 1200 NGOs operating in 18 of the world’s most insecure countries.

INSO is registered in the Netherlands, with its headquarters based in The Hague, the international city of peace and justice.

INSO Ukraine

INSO Ukraine opened in 2015. Since the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, it has rapidly expanded to a complete platform serving the needs of NGOs in a fast-evolving conflict. Currently, more than 240 national and international NGOs receive INSO services, in both Ukrainian and English, including information, analysis and advice through a wide range of written products, meetings and briefings, tailored assessments, crisis support, and a broad range of training courses. Our country office is in Kyiv, supported by field offices in Dnipro, Odesa, and Kharkiv.

The scale and intensity of the conflict in Ukraine continues to pose significant humanitarian safety challenges, particularly around heavily contested frontline areas where the humanitarian footprint has expanded since 2023. As part of INSO Ukraine, you will play a key role in supporting NGOs and helping aid reach people in need in a safer manner, while at the same time being part of a vibrant and growing humanitarian community bringing together experiences from across the globe.

INSO is now seeking an experienced professional to join our team in Kyiv as aDriver.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of INSO Ukraine Operations Manager, the successful candidate will provide support in carrying out INSO operations functions, including (but not limited to) the movement of the personnel, partners, and equipment/materials of the mission as well as maintaining INSO vehicle in line with Ukrainian laws and INSO internal regulations. The position is part of the Operations team and is based in Kyiv.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily care and maintenance of vehicles, including cleaning, regular maintenance checks, identifying repairs needed, etc.
• Responsible for safety in, and around, the vehicle for all the passengers, i.e., adherence to the vehicle’s maximum capacity, refusing the transport of armed persons
• Ensure the presence and readiness of the First Aid Kit, basic emergency equipment, and communication devices (if issued) before any trip
• Maintain the set fuel level in the vehicle at all times to ensure immediate operational readiness
• Knowing and obliging to the country’s Highway Code
• Strictly observe and comply with the INSO Ukraine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for usage of rented vehicles by INSO Ukraine employees, including journey management rules, movement protocols, and mandatory check-ins during field trips
• Never transfer control of the vehicle to unauthorized persons
• Responsible for driving INSO employees, cargo and agreed partner personnel
• Provide assistance to INSO staff and visitors arriving from abroad and assist in loading and unloading luggage and/or cargo
• Perform weekly vehicle inspections and complete the weekly vehicle checklist according to the template provided by INSO
• Carry out pre and post field trip checks and inspections as required
• Keep the vehicle clean inside and outside both when leaving and returning from the field
• Ensure that all documents needed for driving the vehicle are on board and are valid
• Maintain accurate logbook for the vehicle and ensure that the accident report forms are present in the vehicle
• Responsible for informing the relevant parties in the event of the accident or incident

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

• College degree, State Diploma or Specialised Certificate
• Valid driver’s license for relevant vehicles (category B)
• Minimum 5 years of professional driving experience
• Excellent Ukrainian language skills, both written and verbal
• Elementary level of English, both written and verbal
• Auto mechanics knowledge

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience in the NGO sector
• An understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles

Terms & Conditions

Official employment contract with 3-month probationary period with expected start date of 26 October 2026, UAH 37,760 per month gross salary, 2 days annual leave per month and medical insurance.

INSO Ukraine, unfortunately, does not provide a military exemption.

Основна інформація про посаду

INSO Україна шукає Водія до операційної команди в Києві. Під керівництвом Операційного менеджера кандидат відповідатиме за перевезення персоналу, партнерів та вантажів, а також за належне технічне й адміністративне забезпечення транспортного засобу.

Основні обов’язки

• Перевезення співробітників INSO, партнерів та вантажів.
• Забезпечення безпечного користування транспортним засобом.
• Дотримання Правил дорожнього руху України та внутрішніх процедур INSO.
• Щоденна перевірка технічного стану автомобіля.
• Контроль рівня пального та готовності автомобіля до виїзду.
• Перевірка наявності аптечки, аварійного обладнання та засобів зв’язку.
• Проведення передрейсових і післярейсових оглядів.
• Підтримання чистоти автомобіля.
• Ведення журналу використання транспортного засобу та необхідної документації.
• Забезпечення чинності всіх документів на автомобіль.
• Допомога міжнародним відвідувачам та співробітникам із багажем.
• Негайне інформування відповідальних осіб у разі ДТП або інцидентів.
• Виконання інших завдань за потреби.
