Soft Goods Maker (Industrial Sewing)

About the Project An early-stage wearable hardware company building new products needs a skilled soft goods maker in Kyiv to produce prototype parts and small batches. You’ll work directly with the mechanical prototyper, turning drawings into finished assemblies on a weekly rhythm.

What You’ll Do

• Build soft goods from drawings: straps, belts, pouches, and webbing assemblies
• Turn around small batches (5−10 units), usually something new each week
• Receive a spec on Monday, deliver finished parts by Friday
• Source materials in Kyiv quickly (Cordura, webbing, buckles, hook and loop)
• Give feedback on manufacturability and suggest practical improvements
• Coordinate directly with our mechanical prototyper on fit and revisions

Requirements

• Own industrial sewing machine and workspace in Kyiv
• Proven experience making tactical or load-bearing gear (e.g., for military units, volunteers, or a tactical gear workshop)
• Able to work accurately from technical drawings
• Reliable local access to Cordura, webbing, hardware, and hook-and-loop
• Consistent weekly turnaround with high quality and clean stitching
• Trustworthy and discreet: you’ll see unreleased product designs and must not share them

Nice to Have

• Experience with bartacking, binding, and heavy-duty reinforcement stitching
• Experience prototyping or working with engineers and designers
• Ability to make pattern or construction suggestions from rough sketches
