Meeko teams

Meeko started out life as a division of Lucidica which was founded back in 2005 in Shoreditch, London. At its core, Lucidica is an IT support company but with many of its fingers in different technological pies, including; digital marketing, managed services, tech product sales, and web development. Anything geeky, Lucidica are all over it.

The ideaIn 2014 Lucidica went through a growth spurt and needed to hire the best talent on the market, quickly! One of its young, optimistic employees who happens to be Ukrainian started looking to Kiev as a source for our newest team members. He suggested we open our second office in Ukraine to find the best talent. So, after visiting Kiev and realizing what a great opportunity Lucidica had, we did! We thought it would be simple, we thought if Samsung can do it, we can too, how hard could it possibly be? Only a few minor details stood in the way of Lucidica being able to hire their offshore team in Ukraine; foreign employment law, taxation, not speaking the lingo. But after a lot of reading, speaking to the locals and trial and error, they solved all of this and in 2015 hired their first Engineer.

Lucidica wanted to create the opportunity for other growing businesses to do the same and had a new solution for finding remote staff. Using offshore workers for short term projects has its place but being able to build a team to work permanently alongside your UK office makes so much more sense to save on costs and the overhead of passing your project from developer to developer.
