CORE is a community organized relief organization based in Los Angeles with existing projects in Haiti, the Bahamas, Poland, Romania and in Ukraine. When a crisis strikes, we respond immediately to fill gaps, mobilize resources, and establish trust and collaboration from within communities to empower them to break perennial cycles of poverty and vulnerability. CORE focuses on equity by bringing relief directly to those who need it most. Following the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, CORE has stepped up to aid local government and local non-profit/humanitarian organizations in Ukraine in support of refugees who have fled the volatile situation. The war in Ukraine has created the largest humanitarian crisis in Europe since World War II. The resulting humanitarian needs are dire and widespread. Damage to residential areas has significantly crippled civilian infrastructure in many areas within Ukraine, and many of those who have fled the country have been forced to leave behind most of their possessions. CORE’s teams are in Poland, Romania and Ukraine working with international and local partners to support the critical needs of refugees and those in need within Ukraine, with covering their basic necessities, including food, medication, and hygiene items.
