This work is my attempt to show both my technical knowledge and designer skills for game design. In
this project I’ll show you a character concept that was fully made by me. ​

CHARACTER CONCEPT

THE CHARACTER’S DESCRIPTION:
Name: Sylvia
Age: around 20 y.o.
Height: 1.70m
Story: She is a soldier and a sworn protector of the Crown. For as long as she can remember, she
believed her purpose was to protect - to obey, to stand firm, to endure. Through harsh training and
unforgiving lessons, she taught herself to be strong, brave, and disciplined. Doubt was a weakness.
Obedience was a virtue.
But time has a way of wearing down even the most loyal. Slowly, she began to question the orders she
was given - and sometimes, quietly, to avoid carrying them out. Not out of fear, but out of something
far more dangerous: thought.
Now she is on a journey, a special mission undertaken for the King’s reasons. Yet deep down, she
knows she does not want to return. Along the road, she has met many people - too many voices, too
many truths. Trust no longer comes easily, and belief feels fragile. Her only constant companion is her
horse.
Her story reflects the cruelty of an unfair system - one that rewards blind faith and punishes those who
dare to see clearly. She gave her entire life to that system, only to realize that it may never have been
her future at all.

At the middle point in her journey, she is not sure who she can trust, and in the middle of the night,
only her horse is her anchor.

She is not sure if she can go home; she is tired, but her horse holds her, her path was…new. And she
doesn't know if the future will accept her in a new form. She lost her cloak and her armor is the last
symbol that moves her to her castle, but …Will she go inside?

The additional detail about characters, sketches that deeper knowledge of character.
A mysterious prince who has a part of the heart of his protector. Will this be a pivotal reason why she
came back or will her hesitations take over?

Am I alive?

The work represents the statue, but not a simple stone one. This is alive, and with this
realization, it carries a huge weight of pressure. My purpose was to represent the specific
feelings of being in a cage, as well as those created by others or your own expectations. The

crown on her head is the only material that isn't stone. The snake is a symbol of poison that
was in the statue's veins.

Text on the image: from UKR to ENG: “Do Oxen Low When Mangers are Full?” This
illustration was inspired by the Ukrainian novel "Хіба ревуть воли, як ясла повні?" (ENG:
Do Oxen Low, When Their Managers are Full?), sometimes called The Ruined Strength
(Ukrainian: Пропаща сила), is a 1875 epic realist novel by Panas Myrny and Ivan Bilyk. The
novel describes the state of Ukrainian people in the start of the 20th century. The novel
delves into psychological behavior and analysis. This story touched my heart, and I wanted
to represent how I see it. The thin metaphor and harsh conditions in which this story is told
are shocking, but can change the person's perspective. This is not only my national
connection but a way to spread my culture and my history.

When The Fire Burns
Medium: Krita

This work is interesting in the way that it was made fully by an inner urge to draw. The
random song inspired me, and under it I made this work. On the highlight, I can tell that the
war in my country affected this work, but it wasn't the main idea of it. I tried to tell a story
about fire, buildings, crows, and two lonely people on the top of it, looking into the world
under its pressure, and even the fire doesn't bother them. This work is also a good example
of my composition skills.
