Program Manager (Volunteer)
The Traveling Colonels (May 2023 – Present)
Currently volunteering full-time in Ukraine providing humanitarian aid and medical supplies to combat
medics and front-line defenders as well as helping to rebuild schools, homes and communities damaged by
shelling, flooding and other acts of war:
▪ Traveling Colonels – serving as the local, on-the-ground, program manager for The Traveling Colonels - a
group of U.S. military veterans that have been working in Ukraine for 2 years providing live-saving
medical supplies and equipment.
▪ Brave to Rebuild (Volunteer) – helping to rebuild homes, schools, and communities in the previous
occupied areas of Bucha, Irpin, and Gostomel as well as Kharkiv (eastern Ukraine) and Kherson (Southern
Ukraine).
▪ Enduring Hope Amid Chaos (Board Member) – delivering humanitarian, medical and other non-lethal aid
to defenders, medics, hospitals, and international humanitarian organizations operating in Ukraine.

Social Sector Partners (December 2013 – Present)
In 2013, I founded Social Sector Partners to bring together grantmakers, donors and nonprofit organizations
to develop a culture of sustainability that drives real and lasting impact. Accomplishments include:
▪ Leading the nonprofit finance capacity building efforts for the some of the largest nonprofit training
programs such as:
▪ Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Leadership Program
▪ Annenberg Foundation’s Alchemy and Alchemy+ programs
▪ Center for Nonprofit Leadership’s Board Leadership Institute
▪ Northern California Grantmakers’ New Grantmakers Institute
▪ Providing training for staff, trustees and grantees for dozens of foundations including
▪ David & Lucile Packard Foundation,
▪ Flora & William Hewlett Foundation,
▪ Bank of America Charitable Foundation,
▪ California Wellness Foundation
▪ Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
▪ Directing the Full Cost Project, a statewide multi-funder collaborative effort to support foundations and
government agencies in adapting their grantmaking practices to better support the full cost of delivering
outcomes for their grantees and nonprofit partners.
▪ Serving as Interim President & CEO for Northern California Grantmakers from December 2013 – April 2015
and implementing a new strategic direction including the development of a new business model, staff and
organizational structure, collaborative philanthropy initiatives and earned income opportunities.

Executive Director
All Stars Helping Kids (September 2019 – May 2023)
Led the growth and expansion of All Stars Helping Kids programs working to disrupt the cycle of poverty for
Bay Area youth. Adapted and relaunched the All Stars Accelerator Program, launched the new Re:Work
Training Bay Area Program, expanded our grantmaking, grew staff from 3 to 8 FTE and increased revenue
from $1.2M in 2019 to a projected $2.2M for 2023.
▪ Strategy & Organization Building: Created new strategic vision with ambitious impact goals, crafted in
partnership with the Board of Directors; drove the overhaul of All Stars’ organizational infrastructure in
areas including fundraising/development, programs, and finance.
▪ Defining Scale and Impact: Developed and enhanced All Stars’ innovative approach to nonprofit
grantmaking, drawing from best practices in the venture capital and impact investing space to advance the
cohort model.
▪ Fundraising: Served as the Chief Storyteller and evangelist of All Stars; oversaw the design and execution of
fundraising plans, events, and campaigns; activated the generosity of the Bay Area venture philanthropy
community.
▪ Operations Management: Oversaw the day-to-day operations of the organization including finance,
administration, and human resources.

Vice President
Nonprofit Finance Fund (August 2008 – December 2013)
Led the growth of NFF’s nonprofit investing, financial consulting, and capacity-building programs throughout
California, the Pacific Northwest, Southwest and Midwest regions.
▪ Lead all strategic partnerships and relationships in the region working directly with nonprofits, clients,
funders, lenders, and government agencies.
▪ Drove growth in NFF’s financial consulting, capital, and planning services from $683,000 to more than $2.5
million annually.
▪ Opened the new Los Angeles office, launched statewide initiatives in California and Hawaii; and partnered
with funders and key stakeholder to introduce our work to Phoenix, Seattle, Chicago and New Orleans.
▪ Expanded NFF’s lending program and grew the loan portfolio from $2 million to more than $14 million
while overseeing underwriting and portfolio management processes.

Vice President, Professional Services
Youth Leadership Institute (April 2006 – July 2008)
Directed the national expansion of the organization’s training, research, and consulting services to build the
capacity of NGOs and local municipalities to create positive social change in their communities.
▪ Developed and implemented a strategic plan that expanded our programs nationally, and increased
revenue from $575,000 to nearly $1 million (70% increase).
▪ Managed large strategic projects involving multiple high-level stakeholders, local community partners, and
funders to address social concerns through policy advocacy.
▪ Overhauled all financial operations and refocused revenue model on gross margin resulting in a 30%
increase in the profitability of our products and services.
▪ Served as public spokesperson through speeches and presentations at conferences across the nation.
