Tatiana Horoshenkaya worked with our family for three years from 2018-2021 as a full time housekeeper. Her responsibilities included cleaning, cooking, washing, ironing and walking our dogs. Tatiana also helped with serving guests when we entertained as we often did as American diplomats.

Ms. Tanya Bochenko has been our nanny for four years - from August 2014 - June 2018. She cared for our two children since they were 8 months old and 2.5 years until they were 4.5 and 6.5 years old. She has helped our kids develop from being babies, to toddlers, and to school-age.
Tanya has a unique ability to interact with kids in a positive, loving, fun, and consistent way. She supports their development by encouraging them to question, learn, create, and encourages them to understand personal responsibility. She is proactive - can help find activities for kids, and has always ensured that there is a strong and positive community for our kids to participate in. Our kids listen to Tanya better than anyone else, they also have more fun with her than anyone else.
I have never questioned Tanya&#039;s judgement, and have always known that my kids were in safe hands when they were with Tanya. She has attended the US Embassy CPR course for kids several times.
Tanys has helped us navigate our life in Ukraine - from finding and arranging kids&#039; activities, and helping us with day to day logistics to keep our home operating. As a child development specialist, fluent English speaker, and just all-around wonderful person - Tanya is one of a kind.
I cannot recommend Tanya highly enough, if you are looking for a nanny who can engage positively with your child, and help guide your child&#039;s development.

I am pleased to recommend Tatiana &quot;Tanya&quot; Boychenko as a nanny for your family. She has been working as the nanny of my 3-year old daughter, Katerina, &quot;Katya,&quot; for the past year.
Tanya is fabulous - patient, considerate, kind, creative, engaging, proactive, dependable, and trustworthy. My daughter adores her, and insisted we invite Tanya to her birthday party. She always wants to find presents for her when we go on vacation. We think of her as a family member, and Katya is already planning what pictures she will color and send to Tanya after we return to the United States, later this summer.
What impressed me immediately about Tanya: She instinctively understands that each child is unique, and she - as the nanny - needs to find the way to connect with the child. My daughter had some anxiety about being with a new nanny, and Tanya had a very calm and gentle approach that allowed Katerina to warm up to her at her own pace.
She asked questions, and was eager to
learn our &quot;rules&quot; and preferences - from how much television we permitted her to watch, our approach to discipline, and our desire to approve the places she took Katya, as well as wanting to know Katya&#039;s favorite foods, toys, and way of falling asleep at nap time. As she observed how I operated and engaged with Katerina, she tried to seamlessly take over tasks and bond with her.
As a mother to a young child herself, she has a fresh perspective. I feel like we work together has a team, with mutual respect for our efforts to raise healthy and happy kids. She never makes assumptions about what is best for my daughter or my family, the way some older nannies, who have already raised their children, might do so. She seeks new ideas for activities that will keep Katya having fun
While Tanya&#039;s main responsibility is caring for my daughter, she also does basic housekeeping chores and iron clothes when Katerina takes an afternoon nap (for about an hour and a half. She set up her own housekeeping routine after learning what I needed done, and I often find that she&#039;s taken the initiative to do helpful things like re-organize her clothes or toys, or pick up some bread at the store. Sometimes, she also prepares food for Katya such as soup, eggs, chicken, and pasta. Many nannies are not willing to do housekeeping and many housekeepers demand a full eight-hour work day, so her willingness to take on these additional tasks and help keep my household tidy makes her an incomparable gem.
It is noteworthy that Tanya has received praise from teachers at the Play Room, an English-speaking pre-school where she and Katerina attended the program &quot;Learn with Me&quot; for young toddlers and parents or childcare providers. A teacher told me that Tanya was a valuable ally in the class, because many of the Ukrainian nannies were not enthusiastic or reluctant to participate fully, often stepping away to talk on their cell phones. 2012 through June 2013, providing excellent care. I highly recommend her for future Referred to me by another U.S. embassy employee, Tanya came with strong recommendations and she more than lived up to those expectations. I always felt safe leaving my child with her and fel lived upto those expectation sat ot my childs life.
Tanya is a gentle, calm and nurturing person, who is truly passionate about working with in dren, In adition to countless tripser the playgrounds aas parks where she was diligent in watching my daughter, she also taught het how to count in Russian and helped her ltriv how to recognize letters and numbers. While her primary responsibilities were caring for my daughter, Tanya always volunteered to help when I needed assistance, including providing care for my dogs while I was out of the country. I have two large dogs that are very dear to me. Though initially unaccustomed to large dogs, Tanya immediately demonstrated that she could handle and care for the dogs.
Furthermore, she also demonstrated a sense of affection and protective nature for them.
One attribute of particular note is Tanya&#039;s attention to detail and proactive nature, which made her a very valuable employee. Tanya anticipated issues and brought them to mine and my wife&#039;s attention in a timely manner. In many cases, this prevented an issue from turning into a much larger problem.
As my assignment with the U.S. Embassy is completed in July 2013, I am leaving Ukraine.
Over the course of her employment, I came to trust and rely on Tanya for the care of my child; and we consider her to be a member of the family. Were I to remain, I would certainly retain her in my employment. As this is not possible, I highly recommend her as a nanny.
