• The facility included 3 interchanges, 4 bridges and overpasses and 6 pedestrian bridges;
• 22 km of underground drainages;

Activities performed:
• Managing engineering and technical staff, ensuring proper control of Contractor’s matters and all the work’s compliance with the Contract terms and Specifications.
• Assistance in immediate response to Contractor’s demands, ensuring checks and approvals.
• Preparing monthly progress reports.
• As a local materials engineer, I was responsible for coordination with a state lab engineer to ensure the daily testing schedule meets the Contractor’s activity on the site.
• Support for road pavement structure improvement in different locations, analysis of road defects, control and performance of all tests under the Terms of Reference, e.g. asphalt and modified bitumen tests;
- Project launch, review of the pavement drawings and structures.
- Review and approval of materials sources, selection of asphalt composition, concrete, road subbase material, and crushed-stone base layer.
- Checking calibration and precision of test equipment.
- Analysing lab tests results. Monitoring borrow pits, crushed stone production, asphalt plant for making hot mixes, hot recycling of milled existing pavement with added new materials, cement-reinforced crushed stone and sand mix, stone mastic asphalt, concrete plant, and the entire production process.
- Quality control procedures standardization.
- Monitoring the Contractor’s work on the site.
- Checking the road equipment operation: paving machines, rollers, emulsion spreaders.
- Construction materials quality control.
- Review of design documentation on the base course and pavement.
- Consultations and technical support for broadening the capping layer and culverts.
- Field and lab tests of the existing pavement materials.
- Sampling ready-made or treated materials: cement (type, strength, homogeneity), binders, bitumen (ring and ball test, penetration, plasticity, fragility, etc.), crushed stone (strength, grinding, frost resistance, etc.).
- Checking and calibrating the equipment, inspecting the precision and operation of test equipment for road materials.
