Objective:

Applying for the position of a QA Engineer.

Summary:
Currently transitioning from psychology to QA. I have critical thinking, analytical
thinking, problem-solving oriented, attention to detail, strategic planning, and a focus
on optimization. I believe these are core soft skills for a good QA engineer, which is
why I chose to switch into this profession.

I have already learned a lot of QA theory and practiced hard skills, such as creating
test cases, checklists, test plans, and bug reports, using a variety of testing tools
(TestRail, Zephyr/Xray), and applying test design methods. I’m 100% motivated to
continue learning and improving my QA skills, since I simply loved the testing process
during my practice.

Hard skills:

English proficiency: B2-C1 (different tests show different results)
Test management systems: TestRail, Zephyr Essential / Xray for Jira
Bug tracking systems: Jira
Database management: MySQL
API testing tools: Postman, SoapUI
Web testing: DevTools
Other Tools: ChatGPT, Pict, Android SDK, Notion/Figma (basic)
OS: Windows, Android (basic)
Practical Testing Experience: API Testing (Postman), Database Testing (MySQL),
Web Testing (DevTools), PC game testing.
Documentation: Created Test cases, Checklists, Test plans, Test
execution reports, Bug reports (all of them are in the portfolio).

Know about:

Agile/Scrum workflow and sprint-based development process
SDLC, STLC, Bug lifecycle processes understanding
Testing Types: functional, non-functional, exploratory, scripted, smoke, sanity,
regression, integration, system, acceptance, positive, negative, new feature, re-test,
static, dynamic.
Test Design Techniques: Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning,
Pairwise Testing, Decision Table Testing, State Transition Testing, Error Guessing.
Requirements Analysis: Analyzed software requirements, identified ambiguities and
inconsistencies.
Portfolio:

Here you can check some of my testing performed on: Web, API, DB, and PC game.

Soft skills:

Analytical thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving oriented, focus on details,
strategic planning, optimization, time management, complex problem solving,
systematicity, responsibility, proactivity, attentiveness, teaching others, self-learning,
data research, quality oriented, strong communication skills,
self-management/self-organization.

My power skills:

● Strong self-learning ability
I can quickly learn how to use any new PC program/tool or learn a new
theoretical model. For example, every QA hard skill I’ve learned by myself.
● Strong data research skills
If I need to do a task that I don’t know how to do, I will simply learn how from
videos on YouTube, Google, or ask AI what it is and how to do it.
● Striving to do things effectively
I don’t like doing things at a mediocre level, that's why I constantly learn and
improve my technique until I achieve the point where I do my job effectively.

Education:

- Kyiv Slavic University - bachelor. Psychology.
- National Aviation University - specialist. Psychology.
- NLP HUB - NLP practitioner.
- Self-study of psychology from various sources.
- Self-study of QA from various sources: YouTube courses, Google, and AI.

Work experience:

● Practitioner Psychologist. Self-employed. 2016-2024 (7 years)

Achievements:

Built and optimized a client-oriented workflow and communication process, achieving
100% customer satisfaction through clear expectations, feedback collection, and
result-focused interaction.

Designed and implemented structured problem-solving stages, which increased the
percentage of successful outcomes to 75% by improving clarity, consistency, and
process transparency.
Continuously analyzed and improved service quality by identifying weak points,
testing new approaches, and optimizing workflows.

Managed the entire service lifecycle as a project: created and tested content,
analyzed performance metrics, maintained the website, communicated with clients,
and ensured high-quality delivery of the final result.

My motivation:

I have a lot of hobbies and interests that require time. Plus, I love to work hard, but I
need a proper time to rest. That’s why my main motivator is free time. The more I
have it, the better I perform. And I would like to choose on my own when to work,
because I know my balance of work and rest. So I prefer a flexible work schedule.

Cover Letter

I decided to change my profession from psychologist to QA tester. As I mentioned
earlier in summary, I believe I have all the necessary soft skills to become a strong
tester.

Regarding hard skills, I have already learned a lot of QA theory and continue studying
because I genuinely enjoy it. I also believe that theory must be applied in practice, so I
regularly practice testing different types of software and creating documentation —
from test cases and bug reports to test plans and test reports. You can review the
results of this work via the link in my Portfolio.

Because I love PC games, I tend to analyze systems by breaking them down into
mechanics, rules, and interactions, which helps me identify unexpected behaviours
and potential defects. That’s why I usually find a lot of bugs when I play games.

Since I’m a learning machine, I am confident that I will quickly adapt to your
company’s testing approach and standards, as I do not yet have rigid personal testing
habits. After that, I will continue optimizing my skills, as I always do, to become an
A-player on your team.

As I mentioned at the beginning of my resume, I have fully committed to QA as my
profession and I am highly motivated to continue learning and practicing until I
become an effective QA engineer. That's why I also do not plan to remain in a junior
position for long.
