Duties:

Incumbent serves as a Bodyguard (BG) in the execution of protective security operations for the U.S. Ambassador/Chief of Mission (COM), and other designated or visiting U.S. government officials as directed. The position is under the supervision of the Bodyguard Supervisor and managed by the Regional Security Officer (RSO) to U.S Embassy Kyiv in order to protect him/her from harm and embarrassment.

Major duties include: close protective services — 70%, site visits — 20% and liaison — 10%. A successful candidate will drive US Government official vehicle as needed.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a commercial bodyguard, guard, civilian or host government police, military or other security experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: A thorough knowledge of defense measures, medical, fire, hostile attack, defensive and emergency driving procedures. Must be familiar with Ukrainian Police Services, military, security and other government offices to ensure effective liaison and to facilitate effective protective operations including advance and motorcade operations.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to deal effectively with people of difference cultures, possess good leadership and interpersonal skills. Good computer skills. Must be able to work variable shifts, 24 hours on-call schedule, and be physically fit to endure frequent travel, long working hours, and a stressful working environment.

DRIVING REQUIREMENT: Should have a valid driving license (category B) to operate official Embassy vehicle**
