About the role: As a Fuel Efficiency Specialist you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the company’s fuel efficiency strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing fuel consumption, improving operational performance, and supporting sustainability goals across the fleet. This role requires close daily communication with drivers, the Fleet Department, and the Shop/Repair team to ensure proper execution of fuel-saving practices, including effective APU usage, reduction of idle time, and compliance with company fuel efficiency standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

● Implement and support existing fuel efficiency strategies and initiatives to optimize fuel consumption across the company fleet.

● Work closely with drivers on a daily basis through calls and follow-ups to educate and coach them on proper APU usage, idling reduction, and fuel-efficient driving practices.

● Monitor driver performance related to fuel efficiency and provided recommendations for improvement.

● Collect operational data and driver feedback regarding fuel usage, equipment performance, APU functionality, and operational challenges.

● Analyze telematics data, fuel reports, idle reports, and other operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

● Prepare, maintain, and analyze weekly and monthly fuel efficiency and operational performance reports.

● Create professional presentations and summaries of operational data using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

● Collaborate closely with the Fleet Department and Shop/Repair team to address maintenance-related issues impacting fuel efficiency and equipment performance.

● Support initiatives aimed at reducing downtime, improving equipment utilization, and lowering operational costs.

● Monitor compliance with company fuel efficiency standards and operational procedures.

● Assist in identifying and implementing operational improvements and fuel-saving opportunities.

● Prepare regular reports for management regarding fuel consumption trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.

Experience:Experience in trucking, logistics, fleet operations, transportation analytics, or fuel management preferred.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work closely with drivers and operational teams in a professional manner
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Ability to prepare reports, analytics, and presentations in PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
