Safety, ELD Specialist (US Freight Market)

We are looking for an experienced ELD Specialist to join our U.S. transportation team. The ELD Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and managing drivers' electronic logs, ensuring compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, resolving ELD-related issues, and providing timely support to drivers and the operations team.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ELD systems, a strong understanding of U.S. trucking regulations, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor drivers' ELD logs and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance.
• Review and identify log violations, missing logs, unidentified driving time, and incorrect duty-status entries.
• Assist drivers with ELD-related questions, log corrections, and technical issues.
• Review and approve/reject appropriate log edits and ensure records are properly annotated.
• Monitor drivers' available driving hours and help prevent HOS violations.
• Track sleeper berth, personal conveyance, yard moves, off-duty, and on-duty statuses.
• Identify and resolve unidentified driving events and discrepancies between driver activity and ELD records.
• Communicate with drivers regarding log corrections, certifications, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate ELD records and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with Dispatch, Safety, and Operations teams regarding HOS and ELD issues.
• Assist with ELD malfunctions and ensure required procedures are followed.
• Monitor ELD connectivity and report recurring technical issues.
• Prepare ELD/HOS reports and provide information to management when needed.
• Stay up to date with FMCSA regulations and company policies related to ELD and HOS compliance. FMCSA requires ELDs to accurately record drivers' records of duty status and provides specific requirements for handling and retaining ELD data.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an ELD Specialist, HOS Specialist, Safety Specialist, or in a similar U.S. trucking role is a MUST.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and ELD requirements.
• Hands-on experience working with ELD systems and driver logs.
• Experience with identifying and correcting log violations and discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with drivers and internal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make timely decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation/logistics software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Camera must be on during working hours.
• Willingness to work U.S. hours, including overnight or weekend shifts if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with ELD platforms such as Motive, Samsara, Omnitracs, KeepTruckin, PeopleNet, Geotab, or similar systems.
• Previous experience working for a U.S. trucking company, carrier, or 3PL.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA compliance requirements.
• Experience working with TMS, dispatch, safety, or fleet-management systems.
