DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the AWS infrastructure that runs our PHP/PostgreSQL application platform. You will design, automate, secure, and operate cloud environments end to end — from containerized workloads and networking through CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and compliance. This is a hands-on role for someone who treats infrastructure as software, automates relentlessly, and cares about security, reliability, and cost.

What You’ll Do

• Operate the AWS platform. Build and maintain containerized workloads on ECS and EKS, plus serverless components, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and the AWS Well-Architected principles.
• Support the application stack. Keep our PHP application healthy in production — Apache configuration, PHP virtual-host isolation, and tuning for performance and security across multiple tenants.
• Manage data services. Administer Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL along with NoSQL and caching layers — backups, failover, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Automate everything. Define infrastructure with Terraform and manage configuration and deployments with Ansible, keeping environments reproducible and drift-free.
• Own CI/CD. Build and maintain delivery pipelines in TeamCity and Jenkins, enabling fast, safe, repeatable releases.
• Secure the environment. Design AWS networking and web-application firewall defenses, manage threat detection and response, and harden the platform against attacks.
• Maintain compliance. Help sustain SOC 2 and ISO compliance through policy, controls, evidence, and well-documented, auditable infrastructure.
• Monitor and observe. Implement security and application monitoring, alerting, and logging so we detect and resolve issues before customers do.
• Optimize cost. Continuously analyze and reduce AWS spend without compromising performance or resilience.
• Apply AI to operations. Use AI-assisted tooling to streamline DevOps workflows, troubleshooting, and automation.

What You’ll Bring

Required

• Strong hands-on experience operating production workloads on AWS, including ECS/EKS container orchestration and serverless services.
• Solid Linux systems administration skills.
• Production experience with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL (plus exposure to NoSQL and caching technologies).
• Proven infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform.
• Experience supporting PHP / Apache applications, including virtual-host isolation.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with TeamCity and/or Jenkins.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Practical understanding of AWS networking and web-application firewall defenses.
• Experience with security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
• Familiarity maintaining SOC 2 and/or ISO compliance.

Nice to Have

• Ansible configuration management experience.
• Experience applying AI tooling to DevOps operations.
• AWS cost-optimization experience and relevant AWS certifications.
• AWS Well-Architected review experience.
