BANDLEADER FOR THE NEW ALBUM 'WOOL'

In a brand new collaborative effort with some of the most established jazz musicians in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv,
Maltese saxophonist Carlo Muscat has recently released his latest album, Wool, the fourth one under his name.
Recorded in Ukraine in September 2020, the project features a collection of original compositions from the past ten
years and arranged specifically for this album's line-up: Yuriy Seredin on piano, Konstantin Ionenko on double bass, and
Oleg Markov at the drums.

The album was supposed to be recorded earlier in the year, however, travel plans were disrupted due to the pandemic;
the September session happened unexpectedly, with very little preparation and just one full day in the recording studio.
The bandleader talked about his approach in the studio and how he tries to bring out the most genuine aspects of the
music and the players:

"I love short recording sessions. There is no time to overthink your playing - it really captures the essence of the music and the
spirit of each musician. Your first impulse to play is always the closest to your true nature."
