Leading the BA & PO direction in solution/pre-sale department
Duration: ~1,5 years
Mainly, I was involved in pre-sales and discoveries on a full-time basis, but sometimes it was reduced to 60% when I was
getting side-tasks to support someone’s discovery or a project, review and correct work-results of junior BAs. It was a new
department in the company, and initially I was a unique BA on pre-sales. Then onboarding and leading of BAs on presales
became part of my responsibilities. Domains I had a chance to work with: Fin Tech, Healthcare, Logistics, Marketplace &
e-commerce, Travel, Streaming, EdTech. The main artifacts I created during pre-sales are: Value Stream diagram, VSM,
Business Model Canvas, Product Vision Board, Business Goals, FBL ( short pre-sale format), Stakeholders Portfolios,

Leading a QMS project as a Product Owner from pre-sale to release
Proactive participation in discoveries (Marketplace & e-commerce, Project Management Tool, Healthcare)
Duration: ~1,5 years
- About the QMS project:
A complex Quality Management System which is a key solution for the FDA-compliance. It was developed for a
USA-based customer, a highly qualified company specialized in consulting services for Medical Devices’
Manufacturers. It was my first project in this company. To complete the project successfully, it was necessary
to analyse the customer’s full business context and “as is state”, define the Business Goals, drill-down into
requirements for the system, create the vision, scope, roadmap and lead the project as a Product Owner and
BA when working with detailed requirements and the development team. It was always necessary to consider
the budget limitations and business goals, and for this I had to proactively communicate with a Solution
Architect and make the reasonable decisions about priorities, MVP/post-MVP scopes, detailed requirements
and work with change management.
Team Size: 8 people
- About discoveries:
From time-to-time, my work on QMS was 50%, and then I participated in discoveries for different projects. Same after
the project was finished. At that period, the company did not yet have the pre-sale practice and it was part of discovery.
My involvement was varied depending upon the customer. Sometimes I had to act as a BA in IT-context, sometimes as a
Product Owner. In general, working on discoveries was like this: identify the business context, elicit business
requirements and business rules, define the product vision, create a detailed FBL, roadmap, and user stories for first
two development sprints (they had to include wireframes or designs). Besides this, I was supervising junior BAs. I had a
chance to work with such domains as Project Management Tool, Healthcare, Marketplace & e-commerce, Ed Tech,
Logistics. The main artifacts I created during discoveries are: Value Stream diagram, VSM, Business Model Canvas,
Product Vision Board, Business Goals, detailed FBL, Stakeholders Portfolios, various checklists for regulations,
wireframes, CRUD-matrix, ERD, Sequence Flow diagram, State Machine Diagram, BPMN diagrams, detailed
requirements for first 2 sprints (user stories/use cases). I often worked with budget limitations, analyzed the software
solution along with a Solution Architect to adapt the MVP & post-MVP scopes.
General responsibilities
● active participation in all project stages: solution/pre-sale & business development, discovery,
development, release
● Product Ownership (including consulting)
● experience in mentoring BAs working on projects
● documentation of business processes (with visualization)
● requirements elicitation and documentation (from high-level to detailed)
● work on integration requirements
● regular guidance of UI/UX designer trough project needs
● leading grooming meetings, facilitation of planning meetings for development teams
● requirements change management
● work with international teams
