I took up this role with no experience whatsoever, Ukrainian – Fluent
knowing nothing about grain or how international Russian – Fluent
supplies operate in a wartime environment. But in the Dutch - beginer
space of almost a year, I’ve learnt a great deal. I was a
senior manager in the procurement department, where I
trained new managers in dealing with clients and
working with hauliers.
I also implemented an SRM system and a JIRA dashboard
within the company.
Our company wasn’t a market giant, so we had to devise
various strategies for our growth.
My main responsibilities at the company
During the first six months, I was to familiarize myself with
the sector and begin working with clients online, via phone
calls and face-to-face meetings.
The second six months
Expanding the team, implementing the CRM system and the
JIRA dashboard, training new and prospective colleagues,
travelling to farms, grain elevators, and partners for B2B
meetings, and drafting contracts for international deliveries.
Ensuring scheduled deliveries to partners and fulfilling
international contracts.
We undertook many business trips across Ukraine to huge
farms, and we also devoted a lot of time to loading
operations, as we were responsible for the grain.
An interesting phase of my career began when we reached a
level where we could afford to take on contracts from
international partners in Lebanon, Turkey and Egypt; these
countries were our priority. Later on, we managed to supply
soya to Italy, but it wasn’t profitable to work with Europe.
We have also worked with major grain terminals and grain
elevators such as
Risoil, Kernel, Nibulon, Agroprosperis, NovoTech, Brooklyn
and Agrofond
My role in the new culture was an integral part of a vast
mechanism that was beginning to take shape from scratch.
