SUMMARY

Junior Python/Django backend developer and third-year Software Engineering student. Built Presence, a Django REST
backend for private one-to-one video meetings: domain rules in a service layer, race-condition protection at the
database level, 176 automated tests. Looking for a junior backend role, remote or in Mykolaiv.

Modeled the meeting flow (invitation → response → acceptance → meeting) as explicit domain rules, e.g. one
open invitation per person, no responding to your own invitation; rules that must never be broken are also
enforced by partial unique constraints in PostgreSQL.
Kept business logic in a service layer and protected it against race conditions with transaction.atomic,
select_for_update and database constraints. Accepting a response updates the invitation, closes competing
responses and creates the meeting with both participants in a single transaction.
Kept API views thin: they call services and map domain errors to HTTP responses, so the meeting rules do not
depend on the HTTP layer. Key decisions are documented in docs/architecture.md.
REST API with authentication and email verification; LiveKit video rooms accessible only to meeting participants.
176 automated tests across models, services and API endpoints, run on every push in GitHub Actions against
PostgreSQL.
