    Про вакансію

At Pixel Robotics, we develop autonomous mobile robots and intelligent perception solutions for industrial logistics. To strengthen our hardware team, we are looking for a Hardware Engineer based in Lviv who works closely with our engineering team in Munich.

The role focuses on hardware development tasks that can be handled remotely: developing and evaluating technical concepts, researching components and technologies, supporting procurement and production planning, creating technical documentation, and helping us continuously improve our robotic systems.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Hardware Development & Concept Design — Develop technical concepts for new products, robot components, and customer-specific adaptations. Evaluate different technical approaches and help us decide what makes sense from a technical, cost, and implementation perspective.
    • Component Selection & Technology Research — Research and evaluate mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic components such as sensors, cameras, embedded computers, connectors, cables, actuators, and other hardware used in our robots.
    • Engineering Calculations & Technical Evaluation — Perform technical calculations, compare design alternatives, check specifications, and support engineering decisions.
    • Supplier & Procurement Support — Identify suitable suppliers and components, request and compare quotations, clarify technical questions with vendors, and support our purchasing and production planning.
    • Production Preparation — Help prepare our hardware for efficient production by maintaining BOMs, specifications, assembly documentation, and component information.
    • Technical Documentation — Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, test procedures, drawings, component lists, and engineering documentation.
    • Product Safety & Compliance — Support the evaluation of relevant standards, technical regulations, risk assessments, and requirements related to the EU Machinery Regulation and CE conformity.
    • Customer Project Engineering — Support our team with technical clarification and hardware adaptations for customer projects, from evaluating requirements to defining suitable solutions.
    • Computer Vision Hardware Support — Support camera and sensor-related projects, for example by researching suitable cameras, lenses, computing hardware, interfaces, and installation concepts.
    • Continuous Hardware Improvement — Analyze technical issues from production and field operation and develop solutions together with our hardware and software teams.

    What You Bring

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a comparable technical field.
    • First professional experience in hardware development, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, automation, or a similar environment is an advantage.
    • Strong technical understanding and conceptual thinking — you can understand complex technical systems, evaluate different solutions, and identify what is technically reasonable.
    • Broad technical interest — you enjoy working across mechanics, electronics, sensors, embedded hardware, production, and robotics rather than focusing on only one narrow topic.
    • Structured and pragmatic working style — you can research unfamiliar topics independently, compare alternatives, and turn the results into clear recommendations.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote engineering environment while collaborating closely with colleagues in Munich.
    • Good English skills, both written and spoken.
    • Experience with CAD is a plus, but not mandatory. More important is your ability to understand technical designs and evaluate engineering concepts.

    Nice to Have

Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:

    • Autonomous mobile robots or industrial automation
    • Currently allowed to travel to Germany
    • Mechanical or electrical system design
    • Sensors, cameras, embedded computers, or computer vision hardware
    • Component sourcing and supplier management
    • BOM and production documentation
    • CE conformity, Machinery Directive / EU Machinery Regulation, or relevant EN/ISO standards
    • Technical calculations and design validation
    • CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, or similar

    What You Can Expect

You will work on real robotic systems used in industrial environments and take responsibility for topics that directly influence our products. The role offers a broad range of engineering challenges — from selecting a connector or camera to developing concepts for complete hardware subsystems.

You will work closely with our hardware, software, computer vision, and robotics teams in Munich while being able to work remotely from Ukraine.
