• Built an end-to-end NLP data pipeline for automated ingestion, analysis, and semantic clustering of
Ukrainian news articles from multiple media sources
• Fine-tuned a multilingual SentenceTransformer model on a custom Ukrainian news dataset to generate
dense vector embeddings - standard K-Means/DBSCAN proved ineffective for Ukrainian text similarity
• Designed a cosine similarity-based clustering engine with incremental centroid recalculation and
configurable similarity threshold
• Built a personalized content recommendation system using per-user preference vectors updated in
real-time via Exponential Moving Average (EMA)
• Optimized pipeline throughput with Redis caching and MongoDB Aggregation Pipelines; async
processing via Celery Beat keeps the web server non-blocking under load
• Deployed on AWS EC2 (Ubuntu); managed distributed background workers via Celery
