• Find capacity through DAT, Truckstop and direct calls. Work with the company's carrier base (tens of thousands of carriers) and keep my own core carriers that I have vetted.
• Negotiate rates on price-sensitive freight, covering loads at breakeven or a small margin so that no load is left uncovered.
• Use Highway daily to verify carrier identity, authority, insurance, compliance (MC/DOT) and other carrier information before dispatch.
• Keep load statuses, contacts and agreements up to date in PLS 3.0 (internal TMS).
• When a problem comes up on a load, immediately inform customer service and act as the link between the carrier and the CSR, passing on clear facts so the issue is resolved without delay.

• Covered loads and handled carrier communication during after-hours shifts, making decisions independently when the day team was offline.
• Sourced carriers, negotiated rates and kept customer service informed on load issues.
